Step 1: Surface Preparation Clean surface & keep surface dry and in sound condition to ensure adequate adhesion. All oil, grease, dust, loose particles and other foreign material will be removed & surface will then be thoroughly washed off with clean water. Check if the roof has a slope of a minimum of 1 in 100 already provided. Bitumen based waterproofing treatments if existing will be completely removed by mechanical scarification or by any other effective mechanical means. (additional scope, if applicable) Areas of algae, mildew or fungus on the roof membrane or the existing coating will be treated with a solution of 1 part household bleach and 3 parts water, followed by a power washer rinse using clear water. All joints/corners/drainage outlets and penetration points will be treated prior to all application. Step 2: Crack Filling Carry out sealing of existing cracks & joints before the application to ensure long-lasting waterproofing results. Cleaning of hairline cracks, of dust, residue or other condemnation. All hairline cracks should be opened to atleast 1 - 5 mm with “undercut” groove for ease of application, then filled with acrylic crack filler Dr. Fixit Cracks-X paste. For porous surfaces, primer coat will be applied, prepared with Dr. Fixit Crack X Paste and water 1:1 proportion over the crack. Fill Dr. Fixit Crack x Paste when the surface is tacky not dried. Allow it to set for 24 hours. Cracks more than 5 mm will be repaired with polymer-modified cement sand mortar in the ratio of 1:3 duly admix with Dr. Fixit Pidicrete URP @ 10% by weight of cement Or with Dr. Fixit Polymer Mortar HB (a ready to use single component polymer modified repair mortar). The surface will be allowed to cure for 5-7 days /moist cure as usual. Step 2: Primer Application Ensure proper surface adhesion with a single coat of Dr. Fixit Primeseal diluted with water in the ratio 2:1 spreading at the rate of 8-10 /Sq.mt /Litre Substrate to be in SSD condition for the application of primer. Step 3: Coating Application Application of 1st coat of Dr. Fixit HydroShield PUD plus without dilution spreading at the rate of 0.70/litre/Sq.mt/Coat until all surface is covered. Lay a 45 GSM Fiber glass mesh / 40 -50 GSM Geotextile Fleece as a reinforcing material which is incorporated in the coating when the first coat is still in wet condition. The first coat will be allowed to dry for approximately 4-6 hours before applying the 2nd coat at 90° to the first coat. Ensuring there are no pinholes or air bubbles on the membrane surface. Application of second coat of Dr. Fixit HydroShield PUD Plus without dilution spreading forced consumption at to achieve total dry film thickness of 800 to 1000 microns at forced coverage 1.30- 1.40 /litre/Sq.mt in 2 coats. Ensuring there are no pinholes or air bubbles on the membrane.
Corrosion resistant - Makes concrete more cohesive, hence protects steel better against corrosion.
Compatibility – Being a liquid, easily dispersible & compatible with concrete/mortar mixes.
Permeability – It reduces the permeability of water into concrete.
Strength – The setting time and compressive strength of the concrete remains within the specification limits.
Shrinkage – Reduces shrinkage crack development in plaster & concrete.
Workability – Improves workability of freshly mixed cement concrete.
Durability – Increases durability by improving waterproofing of concrete.
Surface Preparation Remove dust, laitance etc. by wire brush and broom. Clean the surface with water and make Surface Saturated Dry (SSD) condition. Check the surface moisture content and temperature before application of the coating.
Dressing at Junctions Apply the first coat of Dr. Fixit material on the angle fillet. Place and soak 150 mm width of 45-micron open woven glass fiber mesh as reinforcement on the wet first coat to arrest cracking.
Coating Application Apply
